I'm Mikki Auld — a salon owner, educator, mentor, and hairstylist with over 16 years of experience in the beauty industry.

What started as a small-town Australian hairdressing apprenticeship has evolved into a career that has taken me around the world, seen my work featured in publications including Harper's Bazaar, Refinery29, Russh Magazine, Fashion Journal and InStyle, and allowed me to build multiple successful salon businesses from the ground up.

Today, I'm the founder and owner of Paloma Roan, a seven-figure salon brand that continues to operate successfully without my day-to-day involvement while I live and work abroad between Austin, Texas and Australia.

Over the years, I've learned that building a successful salon has very little to do with luck, and everything to do with creating the right foundations. Strong branding. Clear systems. Exceptional client experiences. Effective leadership. Financial awareness. And a team culture people genuinely want to be part of.

These are the principles that allowed me to scale multiple salon businesses, build a loyal team, create predictable profitability, and ultimately design a business that didn't rely on me being behind the chair 50 hours a week.

Through Standout Salon Academy, I teach salon owners how to build profitable, sustainable businesses that can grow beyond them. Through Standout Stylist Blueprint, I help ambitious stylists elevate their personal brand, attract premium clients, increase their income, and create long-term careers they genuinely love.

My mission has always been simple: to help beauty professionals build businesses that give them more freedom, more profit, and more opportunities—without sacrificing their lifestyle in the process.
